Immerse yourself in the forest! The trail is complemented with didactic panels to learn more about the forest and its natural setting.
From the Yens train station, head towards the village, then out of the fields and into the forest. Le Boiron river accompanies the hiker almost all along the way. Step into the forest to find a nice picnic area. Complete the loop in the forest, and take the same path through the fields to reach the village of Yens.
Why Fumas: In 1628, bad weather destroyed almost all the crops. In order to have something to eat, the villagers of Yens went to collect acorns in the forest. They roasted them so they could grind them and make bread out of them. During this operation, thick smoke came out of the chimneys. That is why people nicknamed the villagers of Yens "Fumas". A nickname they still have today.
The easiest way to get to the starting point is to take the MBC train from Morges and stop in Yens. You can then take the train back to Morges at the end of your hike.
For car users, there are a few parking spaces available at Yens station.
