Eclépens’s Castle’s vineyard is located between Eclépens and La Sarraz under the Roman road that links the two villages. It’s located at the foot of Mormont Hill, which overlooks the Orbe plain.
Eclépens’s Castle’s vineyard is one of the oldest wine estates in Switzerland and produces one of the oldest red wines in Vaud canton. It was one of the precursors of the implementation of Gamay, long before it became one of the most popular grape varieties in Switzerland.
The vineyard benefits from a completely organic agriculture and is part of Bio-Suisse. In the purest respect of tradition, the grapes are harvested by hand and the entire wine production is still done in Eclépens’s Castle.
