Cuarnens is situated at the feet of the Jura, on the road from Cossonay to the Vallée de Joux. The village has kept its cachet of yesteryear. Its houses built along the Venoge gives a typical aspect to this bucolic village.
In addition to the agriculture, the development of Cuarnens is narrow bounded to the Venoge. Along this river, there were until four wheels bringing its energy to different sawmill, smithy and mill. The energy of the river promotes also the development of the craft.
