Discover the bucolic village of Montricher: its cheese factory, an exceptional restaurant and a haven of peace at the Jan Michalski Foundation.
From the Montricher train station, walk up the cantonal road to the centre of the village. Be careful, you are on the edge of a cantonal road. Stay on the side of the road, or even in the grass.
Once in the village, go to the Fromagerie Gourmande, where you can discover the cheese making circuit. Admire the large cellar with the maturing cheeses and indulge in a cheese tasting or a drink if you wish. On the ground floor, there is a shop where you can buy many local products, including cheese of course.
After your visit, walk through the village towards the Auberge Aux 2 Sapins. There, enjoy a good regional meal made with local ingredients (Fait Maison label).
To digest, continue on the road towards the exit of the village. The impressive building of the Jan Michalski Foundation for Writing and Literature is just outside Montricher. There is a large library on four floors and a space for temporary exhibitions.
The terrace allows you to enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains and the Lake Geneva region. Take the time to immerse yourself in this very special place!
