Igance Paderewski and his second wife both had a keen interest in nature.
The house in Riond-Bosson, which he bought in 1899, has a huge plot of land. Although Ignace took advantage of this house between concerts, his wife and housekeeper Hélène Paderewska took great care of it. She loved to take care of the fauna and cultivate the flora and made this house a true haven of peace.
In 1936, several leaders of the Polish opposition gathered under the name of "Morges Front" in the Riond-Bosson estate to try to form a united front against the military who ruled the country. He left this house in 1940 when he left for the United States to defend his home country, Poland.
Today this house is unfortunately no longer there and it is even difficult to realize the size of the land since the construction of the motorway. The house was blown up in 1965 by the army. Nevertheless, the houses of the former gardeners and a piece of the park where he planted many species of trees remain.
Beneath the motorway is the dovecote, which was once part of his garden and now houses a small museum.
