In 1852, pastor Germond along with his family and sisters settle in the valley of St-Loup where Dr. Adolphe Butini de la Rive provides them with the SPA Hôtel he bought for them. The Hotel then becomes a hospice, and host to the sick, the Deaconesses and the pastors family. Patients flock and the Deaconesses become more and and more numerous, making the institution grow.
