The Kämpf dairy-cheese factory of Cottens and Bière was built in 1909 with the aim of transforming the milk produced in the village in Gruyère PDO.
The cheese factory has been held by different cheese makers. It was in May 2002 that Mr Rudolf Kämpf took over the cheese factory to perpetuate the centenary tradition of manufacturing Gruyère PDO in Cottens then in Bière.

Outside these hours, the cheese and fondue dispenser located next to the shops door are available 24 hours a day. You can also order their home-made fondue blend and their Gruyere PDO at various refining stages in their on-line shop.
