Along Lake Geneva on the Igor-Stravinsky quay, between the Temple and the Parc de Vertou, the Dahlias promenade extends over more than one and a half kilometres. It is in this enchanting setting that about 2,200 dahlias are planted, from July to October.
The Dahlia Festival, which is completely free to access, is a unique event in French-speaking Switzerland. The purpose of this exhibition-sale is to highlight the various facets of this summer flower. The public can discover nearly 100 varieties spread along an idyllic walk, on foot or by Little Train.
HISTORY
It was in 1997 that the Morgian florist Ernest Lüthi decided to bring together various partners and to launch the idea of an exhibition of dahlias on the Quay Igor Stravinsky. Since then, this event has attracted both professionals who can come and discover the technical aspects of the different varieties and the general public who can admire their beauty.
