Marc Crofts brings together virtuoso musicians from Switzerland, France, Poland and Bulgaria to perform an original repertoire.
The fruit of his research into the klezmer tradition, the violinist's arrangements are based on transcriptions dating from the beginning of the last century. The game then consists of provoking a dialogue between folkloric elements and the more modern tools available to the instrumentalists, enriched by their respective backgrounds: classical music, jazz, Balkan music, etc...
This unique blend reflects the constant cultural exchanges that music makes possible, over and above political and religious conflicts. In this way, knowledge of different traditions enriches an ultimately modern vision of klezmer.
