The story of a high-risk Switzerland
What influence do environmental events have on the lives of Swiss people, past and present? How did people organise themselves to cope with the consequences of disasters? How did they try to protect themselves? What tools do we have at our disposal today?
These are the questions that the next temporary exhibition at the Château de Morges aims to answer, through five thematic axes: natural and human disasters, food shortages, epidemics, energy challenges and, finally, what fears these insecurities have always generated.
Each theme will present historical examples that illustrate the evolution of perceptions and reactions in times of crisis, and will also include current events to help us understand how these risks are managed today. The last room of the exhibition and part of the gardens will be reserved for public participation, so that everyone's concerns can be expressed and discussed.
