The mouth of the Aubonne is considered to be the last natural alluvial site on Lake Geneva. The Aubonne flows into the lake after tumbling down the slopes of the valley that bears its name, taking its rounded stones with it. The mouth of the Aubonne, located in the communes of Allaman and Buchillon and bordered by a small forest, is still relatively natural.
Île de la Harpe is an island in Lake Geneva, part of the municipality of Rolle in the canton of Vaud. It is an artificial island that was created in 1837. The island was named after the political leader Frédéric-César de La Harpe, who died in 1838.
