Many personalities have lived in Tolochenaz. Among them were the Duchess of Otranto, widow of the Duke of Otranto, a title created in 1809 by Napoleon I for the benefit of Joseph Fouché, Minister of the General Police, and her nephew, the Marquis Henri d'Estournel.
In the musical world, Ignace Paderewski is obviously one of them, but he is not the only one. One can also name Nicolaï Gedda, a Swedish tenor who notably practised under the baton of Herbert von Karajan or with renowned opera artists such as Maria Callas, both inhabitants of Tolochenaz too!
Finally, the fabulous dancer Zizi Jeanmaire who died in 2020 in her flat in Tolochenaz.
The famous actress Audrey Hepburn and the politician and pianist Ignace Paderewski both lived in Tolochenaz. In the small village, there are still traces of their passage.
