Concert of music between tango and ethno-actual
Boulouris 5 is first and foremost the meeting of five original personalities eager to play together: Stéphanie Joseph on violin, Jean-Samuel Racine on clarinet, Anne Gillot on bass clarinet, Ignacio Lamas on guitar and Jocelyne Rudasigwa on double bass. Five professional musicians with classical and jazz training, who together sought a space for freedom of expression and creation.
They found this space in the rich work of the initiator of Tango Nuevo, Astor Piazzolla. A music that is written but open to interpretation, allowing each member to make the most of his or her instrument. Thus, the quintet disregards the sacrosanct bandoneon in favor of an ultra-personal orchestration of intense expressivity. Tango Nuevo” really came into its own in 2001, when it was co-produced with Lausanne's Théâtre-de-Vidy for performances at the Théâtre Municipal de Lausanne, thanks in no small part to the subtle contribution of Italian director and playwright Stefano Di Lauro.
